ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
IEC-Institute of Hotel Management, a constituent Institute of prestigious IEC Group of Institutions located in Greater Noida is one of the premier institutes of hospitality education in the country offering 4 Year BHMCT programme which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) & affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow achieving milestones year after year in every sphere of education viz. academics, placement and extra curricular activities.
The four Year Hotel Management programme offered by the Institute equips the students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping.
The Institute not only lay stress and emphasize on creating professional skills by continuously participating in National Level Hospitality events i.e. Chef Competitions, Bar Competitions, Flower arrangement Competitions but also encourages various other curriculum activities to develop an overall personality of the students.As a result,IEC-IHM has been able to achieve Ist Positions regularly for the last two Years in the National level Inter-College Competitions i.e. Chef, Bar & Flower arrangement Competitions organized at various Hotel Management Institutions of the Country.
Institute has arranged special Lectures in a Week for conducting Personality Development Classes & French Language Classes by inviting experts in related field for overall development of students. Institute provides through its Library various National & International Hospitality Journals & Magazines to keep the students updated & familiarized with the recent development in the industry & research activities being conducted in the hospitality field. The Institute Organizes the short term intensive course through guest lecturers at regular intervals, along with seminars in aspect of various recent industrial developments by the inviting experts from the Hotels.
In reference to data available on the website of Ministry of Tourism, Govt.of India, The Tourism industry is growing at a rapid pace with growth of over 10% over last year. During the 12th five year plan, a 12% growth has been projected. This growth would result in an additional employment generation of 2.5 crores. There would a requirement of 36 lakh trained manpower for the hospitality sector at various levels by 2016.Global growth and development of tourism have opened up innumerable openings, as a result, A Hotel Management graduate can look forward to career opportunities as: Management Trainee in Hotel and allied industry, Guest/ Customer Relation Executive in Hotel and other Service Sectors, Kitchen Management/ House keeping Management Trainee in Hotels, Flight Kitchens also offer opportunities for career building, Executive multi skilled in Fast Food Chains, Hospital and Institutional Catering Executives, Faculty in Hotel Management/ Food Craft Institutes( after earning industry work experience),Cabin Crew in National and International Airlines, Catering Officer or Chef in Cruise lines, Marketing/ Sales Executive in Hotels, Self employed entrepreneurs.
The Institute is quite successful in its placement prospects as well & is able to maintain approximately 100% Placement record for all the passed out batches. Leading hotels in the country conduct on & off campus interviews every year and many bright students have several offers to choose from . The students who have already passed out occupy responsible designation such as Junior Manager, Supervisors and skilled craftsman in Hotels, Restaurants, Airlines, Railways, Mobile catering units, Industrial canteens, Institutions, hospitals and as faculty member in training institutions. Some students have turned to be successful entrepreneurs in the service industry.

Prof. Ms. Priyanka Pandey is the head of the Department of Hotel Management, IEC College of Engineering and Technology. She holds MTM,PGDM, BSc in Hotel Management, DHM having more than 10 years of Academics & Industry experience. Ms. Priyanka Pandey has been awarded the best faculty award in IEC Group of Institutions. She has presented nine International / National Management conferences, workshops & seminars. Has received Appreciation Letter from AHLEI (American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute) & been a Certified Trainer for them too. She is Affiliated with IGNOU & is a coordinator for BAIHA Course.
Department Faculty Profile
Prof. Deepak Chhikara(Assistant Professor and AKTU Coordinator of BHMCT Program of the Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, IEC College of Engineering and Technology) is one of the pillar faculty in department of HM. He has completed MBA,MTM,BHMCT, Diploma in Labor Law. He has more than 11 years of Industry & Academics experience at UG and PG levels. To his achievement he has presented & published 08 International and National publications in different journals. He has been presented with the Best Faculty Award in IEC Group of Institutions .He has been a certified trainer for AHLEI(American Hotel and Lodging Institute) and has been recognized for his efforts with an appreciation letter.
Prof. Jyoti Kukreja (Assistant Professor and Training & Placement Head of BHMCT Program of the Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, IEC College of Engineering and Technology) .She has completed MTM,DHM, Diploma in Labor Law , B.A . She has more than 9 years of Industry & Academics experience at UG and PG levels. She has presented her Research work in International/National Conferences. In the process of enhancing her academic knowledge, she is pursuing her M.Sc in Hotel Management . She conducts Industry Interview Preparations for Final Year Students and also conducts Personality Development Lectures. She has been responsible for Industrial Visit ,ODC ,Training and Placement. She has been a certified trainer for AHLEI(American Hotel and Lodging Institute) and has been recognized for her efforts with an appreciation letter.
Prof . Rupali Chandra (Assistant Professor in Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, IEC College of Engineering and Technology) is an alumni of Delhi Institute of Hotel Management, Delhi (N.C.H.M.C.T) and holds a regular Masters Degree in Human Resource Management . She has further worked with renowned Hotel The Oberoi, Gurgaon. She has also undertaken her training from The Oberoi, New Delhi in all the core departments of the hotel like Food and Beverage and Rooms Division. She has exposure with The Ashok Group of Hotels ,Chanakyapuri ,Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. She has received various awards during her Graduation and Post Graduation time. She has more than 3years of Industry and Academics experience at Graduate and Post Graduate level. In the process of enhancing her academic knowledge, she is pursuing her Diploma in Training and Development from Indian Society for Training and Development, Delhi. She has presented her Research work in various National and International Conferences. She aims at providing a growing and conducive environment to the students to nurture her students .
Prof. Gaurav Bisht (Assistant Professor in Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, IEC College of Engineering and Technology) is an alumni of Banarasidas Chandiwala Insitute of Management, Delhi and has earned his PG Diploma Management from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Delhi. In the process of enhancing his academic knowledge,he is pursuing his Masters n Tourism from IGNOU. He has more than 6years of Industry and Academics experience at Graduate and Post Graduate level. He is also a Member of Indian Culinary Forum, North India. He has been working as a consultant and had been instrumental in opening a few restaurants and F and B Service outlets in Delhi/NCR. Presently he is working on some Food Styling and Food Photography Projects as well. He is involved in motivating students through social media by writing articles and managing his culinary page.
Ms. Ankita Singh (Librarian in Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, IEC College of Engineering and Technology, has completed her M.Lib. and Lib.Sc from Kumaon University. She has more than 8 years of experience. She has presented her Research work in various National and International Conferences. She has received the best Research Paper Award in National Conference at INMATEC Ghaziabad. She has attended many national and international conference from her area of interest. She has guided many students from graduate and post graduate level.
