  1. Why Pharmacy?

There has never been a better time for students to consider a rewarding career in pharmacy. The demand for trained pharmacy professionals has increased in recent years due to the rapid growth of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, especially for the growing elderly population. The number of pharmacists in healthcare services is also increasing as pharmacists become more actively involved in drug therapy management for patients of all ages.


  1. What can I do with a Pharmacy degree?

Most of pharmacists work in community pharmacies, however, pharmacists are found in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, managed care, public health, armed forces, pharmaceutical industry, government and more. While responsibilities vary among the different areas of pharmacy practice, the bottom line is that pharmacists help patients get well. Pharmacists also educate consumers and patients on the use of prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, and advise physicians, nurses and other health professionals on drug decisions. Pharmacists also provide expertise about the composition of drugs, including their chemical, biological, and physical properties and their manufacture and use. They ensure drug purity and strength and make sure that drugs do not interact in a harmful way. Pharmacists are drug information experts ultimately concerned about their patients' health and wellness.


  1. What do I need to do to be a pharmacist? 

To practice pharmacy in INDIA, you must earn a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) / Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from an accredited pharmacy institution and register with a State Pharmacy Council. In India pharmacy institutions are accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). 


  1. Whether the course/institution (IEC Group of Institutions, Greater Noida) is accredited to PCI?

     Yes. IEC Group of Institutions, Greater Noida is accredited by PCI for 100 Seats.


  1. What is accreditation and affiliation status of Department of Pharmacy, IEC Group of Institutions, Greater Noida from AICTE and University?

Yes, it is well accredited  by AICTE and affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow .


  1. How long does it take to earn a B.Pharm & M.Pharm degree? 

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree program requires four years, while Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree program requires two years


  1. Do I need a bachelor’s degree before I apply to B.Pharm or M.Pharm degree?

You are not required to earn a bachelor’s degree in order to apply to B.Pharm, while  M.Pharm degree requires B.Pharm with 60% Marks for admission in M.Pharm program.


  1. Can I enroll in a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) school right after intermediate/12th Standard?



  1. What subjects in 12th Standard should I take to prepare for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)?

50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology/Math with Chemistry and Physics is essential in 12th Standard.


  1. What tests do 12th Standard applicants need to apply to Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program?

  1. Can I apply as a college transfer applicant to a college for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)?

No. Not allowed by Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow 


  1. Do you require an interview during the admissions process?

Pharmacy schools will require competitive applicants to visit the campus for an interview. During these interviews, you may be rated on your oral communication skills, how you present yourself and interact in a group, your knowledge of the profession of pharmacy, your ability to solve problems, and your motivation to pursue a career in pharmacy. Your written communication skills may be measured with an on-campus essay exercise. 


  1. I already have a degree in healthcare (or related science). Can I finish B.Pharm in less time?

Generally, any degree in a related discipline does not reduce the time it takes to complete the B.Pharm. degree program, but anyone with complete Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from PCI approved institution can apply for 2nd Year of B.Pharm through lateral entry.


  1. What is the GPAT?

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), an exam developed by AICTE, is a specialized test that helps identify qualified applicants to pharmacy colleges for admission in Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) with a fellowship from MHRD, India.

  1. Do all pharmacy schools require the GPAT for admission?



  1. What are the minimum GPAT scores considered?

The minimum GPAT scores considered for admission vary by institution.


  1. Do foreign students come to study at IEC Group of Institutions, Greater Noida?

Yes. Many Foreign National Students (FNS) do join Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) as well as in Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree program.


  1. Can I complete my Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Masters in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree online or Distance Learning?


  1. What is the pattern followed for the course?
    The course shall extend over four years for B.Pharmacy while M.Pharmacy it is of two years consisting of two semesters in each year, followed by research work on industry related project and submission of dissertation in the second year.


  1. How would you rate your institute nationally?

IEC Group of institutions is one among top Institutions affiliated from UPTU (Earlier MTU and GBTU), while looking into the infrastructure, faculty, teaching, lab facilities, learning and research performances they are also in their optimum quality.


  1. Are placements provided by your institute?

Yes, IEC provides campus placement to all of our pharmacy graduates and postgraduates. We do have a placement cell. It gives platform to students to enter into various Pharma industries.


  1. What is the process for cancellation of admission?

The candidate should submit a written request for cancellation of admission and submit it to Registrar along with original fee receipt. The fees refund will be as per the norms laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), from time to time.

  1. Is hostel facility available for students?
    Yes we do have Hostel facility separate for Boys and Girls.


  1. When is the last date for submitting the application forms to IEC?
    Last date is different for different courses according to the Guidelines of the respective councils and as per the guidelines of UPTU

  1. How I can apply for various pharmacy courses at IEC.

Online form available at Institute’s website i.e.:  www. Besides, form can also be obtained from campus, Head Office and regional offices of IEC.


  1. Should I need to pay the admission / tuition fee at the time of counselling / admission?
           Yes, the fee is to be paid on the day of counseling/admission. 


  1. Is there any facility for payment of fees in installments?
    No, the entire first year fees is to be paid on the day of counselling / admission and subsequent fees on the dates to be notified.


  1. Is there any management quota?
    Yes, as per AICTE and University norms (15% of the total intake).  


  1. Who can apply under management quota?

Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals who can not get through the respective state entrance tests can apply. They have to fulfill the required criteria set by the State Government, University and Councils respectively.


  1. What is the scope for B. Pharm course?

After successful completion of the course the student will be placed in the field of -

  1. What are the facilities @ IEC?

        Well furnished state of the art facilities with ultra modern teaching tools, user friendly pollution environment with well equipped laboratories, Animal House, Central Instrumental facility laboratory etc.
